The PSF is committed to establish an active presence role in disaster risk management efforts in different areas of the country. The program deals with early prediction, relief and sustainable rehabilitation needs of the general community in times of calamity. Through these efforts, PSF aims to help bring hope to families in areas devastated by disasters.
Amore Purpose-Driven community Housing Project
PSF aims to help build homes in the Amore Purpose Driven Community in Albay, one of the areas ravaged by the Typhoon Reming in 2006. PSF is working with the National Disaster Coordinating Council, Operation Compassion International, Inc. and local government units. Aside from housing, beneficiaries will also be given livelihood opportunities, as part of the Ka-Hanapbuhay project which has chosen the Amore Purpose Driven community as one of its pilot sites. PBSP will also provide livelihood trainings for the beneficiaries. ASA has established a microfinance center in Legaspi City to assist members of the community.
12th Festival of Trees Fundraising
In November 2007, PSF supported the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) and the Makati Garden Club (MGC) in celebrating the 12th Festival of Trees, a fundraising event at the Manila Polo Club. The funds raised will benefit the Amore Purpose-Driven Community.
