PSF inaugurates Bahay Pagasa facility, a message of hope for Children-in-Conflict with the Law (CICL)
The first Juvenile Rehabilitation Facility in Luzon for Children-In-Conflict with the Law (CICL) was recently inaugurated by De La Salle University Dasmarinas & PLDT Smart Foundation officials led by Bro. Agustin Boquer and Manuel V. Pangilinan.
The Bahay Pagasa facility in Dasmarinas, taking its name from the original facility in Bacolod pioneered by the De La Salle brothers was constructed in record time from the groundbreaking ceremony just 7 months earlier. PLDT Smart Foundation invested a total of roughly PhP13M - PhP11M for the facility and PhP2M in operational funds to support the fundraising project monitoring, advocacy and public relations component.
Preparations are underway for the first batch of CICL to be welcomed and assisted by the Bahay Pagasa transformational program, a unique experience combining moral, physical, mental and spiritual development of the child. Livelihood opportunities for the families of the CICL are also being developed by the ASA Foundation, PSF’s microfinance and micro enterprise partner.
Community support was evident in the launch of Bahay Pagasa as it represents a major milestone in the fulfillment of a vision of reformed and productive youth as still the hope of our nation. Truly, we see in this program the PLDT group’s 80th year theme of “changing lives”. Anthony Pangilinan
